Once a year, Berlin’s world famous sights and monuments in the city centre become the canvas for spectacular light and video projections at the Festival of Lights.
Dance in August
Dance in August (Tanz im August) is one of the most important dance festivals in Europe. It focuses on contemporary dance and experimental choreographies performed by accomplished dancers from all over the world.
Young Euro Classic
Young Euro Classic is a festival specifically created for symphonic youth orchestras. The concerts are held at the Konzerthaus at Gendarmenmarkt and focus on classical and contemporary music.
Each year during the festival, the concert venue - the Konzerthaus at Gendarmenmarkt - is filled to the brim. Compositions from Beethoven and Shostakovich as well as contemporary pieces by composers from all over the world draw a large audience.
Potsdam Palace Night
In summer each year, the parks and palaces of Sanssouci in Potsdam celebrate the bygone pomp and glory of the Prussian Kings.
The Potsdam Palace Night makes the pompous lives of the Prussian kings come alive. For two days, the gardens, temples and palaces around Sanssouci Palace open their doors for visitors and allow them a glimpse into the baroque lifestyle of Frederick the Great and his royal contemporaries.
German-American Folk Festival
The German-American Folk Festival celebrates the American way of life with amusement rides, live music, food and drink. Each year around 100,000 visitors enjoy the exciting entertainment programme at Marienpark in Berlin-Mariendorf.
