LJUBLJANA FESTIVAL
he Ljubljana Festival, with its long history and tradition of presenting premier artistic events, contributes significantly to the cultural life of Ljubljana in the summer.
The festival’s rich programme of concert, opera, and ballet events features internationally renowned artists, including some of the world's most recognised names in music and performing arts.
The main venue of the Ljubljana Festival is the picturesque Križanke Summer Theatre, a gem of 13th century architecture rebuilt to its present form by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Festival events are also held at a number of other prestigious venues in Ljubljana and its surrounding areas. For several years now, the opening of the Ljubljana Festival has been held in Kongresni trg, one of Ljubljana's central squares.
